Infrastructure covers communications, energy, transport and public utility
networks, as well as financial, health and government facilities. It is
what maintains the security, health, safety and economic well-being of a
nation. An infrastructure can be harmed both physically and 'logically';
buildings and equipment can be damaged and the vital flow of information can be
disrupted. An infrastructure must be protected whether harmed by
natural disasters, accidents or deliberate criminal activity.
SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) UK provides solutions to
protect the integrity of critical infrastructure covering a wide range of these
threats.
Some solutions are simple measures to prevent disruption for
example fences, access control mechanisms for physical installations,
hardening of computers and shielding of communication
networks. Other solutions are based on various sensor technologies
that can for example detect physical changes and integrate electronic
techniques that detect attempts at logical disruption. Systems can also
include anti-bugging devices to detect surreptitious, hostile surveillance of
infrastructure.
We work with our customers to ensure that these technologies are
integrated into their Command and Control systems so that threats can be
rapidly identified and neutralised.
