Flexible, easily deployed technology for mass and individual surveillance
Policing major events from political summits, international sports to rock concerts has always posed difficult balancing problems.  Authorities have to ensure individuals' freedom of movement while also protecting them from harm, whether it be accidental, criminal activity, political agitation, or terrorist threat.  And all this often has to be done in the glare of the media, especially where VIPs are involved.

SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) UK can provide a range of technologies that support the unobtrusive tracking and surveillance of people.  We have systems that monitor major flows in crowds, and that detect anomalous, potentially suspicious behavior of individuals. The equipment is easily deployed and redeployed in flexible configurations of fixed or mobile installations.  It can be highly visible to provide a deterrent effect, or small and hidden to provide discrete surveillance.
Secure communications links tie the sensors with command and control facilities, supporting situational awareness and enabling effective response.  The communications can be wireless, and can even include automatic, self-healing networking features. It is therefore both robust and easy to deploy.

Our solutions are thus particularly suitable for use at events where temporary but highly reliable and effective systems need to be set up, often in short order.  There is a huge range of possible combinations of equipment and any number of approaches to integrating it into a coherent system for a particular event.  Detailed analysis of the situation is the first and main part of any project in this area and we encourage potential customers to discuss their requirements with us at an early stage.
