SELEX GALILEO designs, develops, and produces leading airborne Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) sensing solutions for fighters, transporters, helicopters and Unmanned Airborne Vehicles (UAVs). These advanced sensors are available for new or retrofit opportunities and can be stand-alone additions or be fully integrated with the platform weapon system.
 
Our sensor systems are designed to increase mission effectiveness, enhance survivability and be affordable throughout their service life. Increasing use of COTS technology ensure affordable capability and technology insertion.
 
We are Europe's leading supplier of airborne radars and are prime contractor on the 4-Nation Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft and have delivered surveillance radars worldwide. Our latest radar portfolio is solely based on Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology and we have been selected for fire control and surveillance radar programmes in the Far East, UK and USA.
 
We also lead the way in platform protection with our Defensive Aids System supplied for Typhoon, AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, Merlin and Lynx. We also can supply tailored solutions for large transport aircraft.
 
Our EO systems provide high resolution surveillance capability and enhanced vision for aircrew. Our EO sub-systems include high power lasers for long range designation of ground targets (selected for the Lockheed Martin Sniper pod and Joint Strike Fighter EO targeting system), long range target identification systems using Burst Illumination LADAR and world leading dual band camera sensors.
