Space

     

The very first component of Galileo Avionica to be deployed in Space dates back to the Sixties and Galileo Avionica has, ever since, developed and produced qualified space optical assemblies, RF equipment, photovoltaic assemblies, power conditioning and distribution systems, robotic arms, motion control software. Space activities are carried out within the Space and Electro-Optics Business Unit; Galileo Avionica supplies equipment and subsystems to the European Space Agency (ESA), the Italian Space Agency (ASI), NASA and other international customers. Headquarters are located in Florence and space operations take place in Florence and Milan where all design, development, manufacturing and testing activities are carried out on an area totaling 18,000 sqm, a large amount of which hosts clean rooms and laboratories equipped with appropriate space simulators and facilities for environmental and functional testing.
