AirRadar & Sonics | Grifo Multimode Family With over 450 units sold and 100.000 flight hours the GRIFO family of
airborne radars offers advanced performance to new and upgradable aircraft.
GRIFO is a coherent, pulse Doppler multimode airborne fire control radar
operating in X-band; its modular architecture, with a configurable number of
Line Replaceable Units (LRU), enables the installation on many different
fighter aircraft. |
 | Scipio Multimode Radar Galileo Avionica completed the class of combat radar products with the
lightweight SCP-01. Optimized for the AMX fighter aircraft, SCP-01 is a
coherent, pulse Doppler, frequency agile airborne multimode radar. |
 | Gabbiano Galileo Avionica completed the class of combat radar products with the
lightweight SCP-01. Optimized for the AMX fighter aircraft, SCP-01 is a
coherent, pulse Doppler, frequency agile airborne multimode radar.Gabbiano is a
state-of-the-art, X-band Pulse Doppler Radar conceived to match a variety of
all-weather surveillance missions, over Ground, along coasts and on sea.
In addition to the standard Air-to-Surface Search modes with TWS and Navigation
Aid modes, this Radar provides the High resolution modes in the sub-meter class
enabling the User to image and classify the intercepted targets (ISAR)
and to identify the fixed targets (SAR).
When employed in Ground Surveillance Missions, GMTI mode allows detection of
slow moving targets on ground.
Gabbiano is a versatile Radar: suitable for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, as well
as for both fixed and rotary wing manned Platforms, it is available in two
variants:
with 360° antenna, for belly-mounted installation, or with ± 90° antenna, for
nose-mounted installation.
In its baseline configuration, with an SSPA based Transmitter with an average
power of 20 W, Gabbiano can be employed both for Homeland Security
missions and for Search and Rescue (SaR) and maritime surveillance
missions.
Key points are Low power consumption (450 W) from a single Power supply source
(28 V dc) along with standard and flexible interfaces, low weight and LPI
characteristics.
For more demanding surveillance missions, Gabbiano is available with a more
powerfull TWT based Transmitter, in two configurations:
Gabbiano POWER: 200 W average power;
Gabbiano Long Eye: 560 W average power.

 | APS 717 - MARITTIME SURVEILLANCE RADAR Family of Search and Surveillance Airborne Radars equipping AB-212 ASW,
SH-3D and EH-101 helicopters of Italian and Portuguese Navies. |
 | MM/HEW-784 X-band, digital multimode, pulse Doppler radar for Air-to-Air and
Air-to-Surface, 360° surveillance developed for the EH 101 helicopter for the
Italian Navy. This Radar has been further upgraded with introduction of
Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR), Range profile and classification
functions against both Air-to-Air and Air-to-Surface targets, with sub metric
resolution.

 | OTS 90 - Integrated sonic system for NH-90 OTS-90 is an advanced, integrated airborne system which maximizes the
probability to early detect and classify any potential underwater threat. It is
composed of two main subsystems:
- Low Frequency Long Range Dipping Sonar
- Sonobuoy Subsystem
The subsystems are integrated by means of a Common Acoustic Processor (
CAP).
OTS-90 is currently in production for the NH-90 four Nations Program |
 | GAMAS - Family of sonobuoys acoustic system GAMAS is a family of Acoustic Systems developed by Galileo Avionica to meet
the requirements of a wide range of ASW missions for helicopters and Maritime
Patrol fixed wing aircrafts as well. The Sonobuoy Subsystem of OTS-90 Sonic
System for the NFH-90 helicopter is part of GAMAS family. |
