June, 05 2007 Enhancing the EH101 Merlin RN Mk1 Capability: SELEX S&AS Host Conference for Lockheed Martin UK-Led Merlin Capability Sustainment Plus Programme SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) UK has hosted the second annual supplier conference for the Merlin Capability Sustainment Plus Programme (MCSP) at its Edinburgh site. Lockheed Martin UK, Prime Contractor and Systems Integrator for the programme, staged the conference with the aim of bringing together the leaders of the programme's industrial partners to maintain cohesion and overall programme perspective and to explore opportunities for continual improvement. The conference was attended by all thirteen partners, together with representatives of the Royal Navy (RN), the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the associated Integrated Project Team. May, 10 2007 CAESAR Completes Flight Trials on Eurofighter The Euroradar CAESAR active electronically scanned array (AESA) variant of the CAPTOR radar system has successfully completed a flight test programme in the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. The flights were conducted by EADS from the Manching facility in Germany. The CAESAR (Captor Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar) system is an AESA radar demonstrator developed and funded by the Euroradar consortium consisting of - SELEX Sensors & Airborne Systems (S&AS), Galileo Avionica of Italy, EADS Defence Electronics of Germany and INDRA of Spain. CAESAR enables AESA capability to be fully exploited, while retaining all features and capabilities of the original CAPTOR radar system.
