Frequently Asked Questions
Q I require a work permit to work in the UK, can I still apply for a development programme or placement?
A We cannot provide work permits for applicants on our development or placement programmes.
Q What is SELEX Galileo's policy regarding Equal Opportunities and Recruitment?
A SELEX Galileo operates an Equal Opportunities policy in its recruitment procedures and welcomes applications from all job seekers. All our vacancies require the individual to be security cleared and be eligible to work in the UK. A significant proportion of our business is currently engaged on contracts that are governed by UK and Foreign government security regulations. Due to the sensitive nature of this work there are restrictions imposed upon these contracts and visibility of any information related to them. UK nationals can usually work on these contracts. Other groups can have restrictions which may limit their career development or their ability to work on specific projects.
Q Can I apply by sending in my CV?
A For general vacancies yes. However we only accept completed on-line application forms for the graduate, apprenticeship and placement schemes.
Q How long will the recruitment process take after completing my application on-line?
A You will be immediately contacted by the Xchanging HR Recruitment team who will facilitate the on-line selection process. Should you be successful, you will be requested to attend assessment and again, Xchanging HR Recruitment team will outline timescales for these within the recruitment process.
Q Where can I find a financial report or history on the Company's financial performance?

Q I understand I have to be security cleared to be able to commence employment. What does this entail and how long does it take?
A You will be asked to complete a Security questionnaire which we will forward to the Defence Vetting Agency. They will determine the level of clearance granted however the length of time the clearance takes is determined by the clearance required for the post (which follows MOD guidelines) and there is no definitive time-scale.
